Decorating With Cedar Garland (Giveaway)

Happy Thanksgiving! As I mentioned when I shared my Christmas tree decorating, this is the first year I’ve been ahead of the game with Christmas decorating. One of my favorite ways to decorate for the season is with fresh greenery and today I want to show you how I used cedar garland to make my living room festive.

Every year I get cedar garland, it’s my favorite because it drapes beautifully wherever you place it. I always order mine from Lynch Creek Farm, they deliver it right to my door. Avoiding crowded stores this time of year helps keep my stress levels low. 😉

I always get the 18′ length, but it also comes in 72′ if you need to cover more ground. The 18′ length is more than enough to do my mantel with plenty left over to use elsewhere.

Isn’t that beautiful? This one is actually called the Deluxe Port Orford Garland. The Port Orford cedar is a bit more delicate in appearance to the more traditional cedar.

White candles and Christmas garland was basically all I used on this mantel, along with this simple star from last year and the mirror that is here year-round.

I’ve been changing up the lower half of this faux mantel in my living room and I’m not sure if it’s done yet, but I’ll show you anyway. I took out the large vintage piece I had there and stacked books for a switch.

A few plants and Christmas things dressed it up a bit.

I even added a set of these string lights to my Christmas cactus, which has fully bloomed since I took these pictures. It’s really beautiful. I use those little lights every year and I’ve been meaning to buy more.

In the center, I used this sparse mini Christmas tree in a Scandinavian style. I found that at a local nursery but I just discovered these faux mini trees that are SO pretty!

A lighted grapevine ball and another pretty plant complete the lower half of the mantel.
