22 Fall Wreath Ideas
WHETHER YOU PREFER TO BUY OR DIY, THESE 22 FALL WREATH IDEAS WILL INSPIRE YOU TO BEGIN YOUR SEASONAL DECORATING THIS YEAR!
Happy (almost) Fall – it officially starts on Sept. 22 this year!
The weather is finally cooling off here in NJ and I couldn’t be happier about it. It was a HOT summer! Fall is my favorite season for many reasons.
One of which is the abundance of natural elements available to decorate with! It’s such a fun season to get creative!
Today I rounded up several fall wreaths that have me inspired. Some are DIY and some are available to buy.
fall wreaths using natural elements
If you take a walk outside you can be inspired by almost anything. Who would’ve thought these sweetgum balls would make such a pretty wreath?
Another creative idea that I wouldn’t have thought of is using corn husks! They’re especially pretty with the warm light browns mixed in.
Or use them to create a sunflower wreath. This one is a stunner!
Acorns can be found in abundance all over this time of year. These also work well for an autumn wreath!
fall wreaths with dried flowers
Dried flowers are wonderful because they don’t die. Some flowers dry better than others, such as these yellow yarrow flowers. They look as good dried as they do fresh, so these were a great choice for this wreath I made a few years back. I still have it and it still looks as good.
My favorite wreaths are wild in shape as opposed to very structured. I am planning to make one along these lines this year.
Dried hydrangeas are another flower that dries well and stays in tact. I especially love the dark pink variety this time of year.
Even those dried limelight hydrangeas can make a beautiful fall wreath.
Did you know you can also dry sunflowers? This is a cool idea for a fall wreath!
minimalist fall wreath ideas
I always appreciate minimalist decorating. Sometimes it takes more restraint to keep things simple and uncluttered. This pretty wheat wreath is a great example of that.
This next wreath has mossy dried mushrooms intertwined with grapevine branches. A unique idea for a fall wreath!
Dried magnolia leaves in shades of fall color is another beauty.
fall leaf wreaths
Of course there isn’t any shortage of leaves around this time of year. Why not use them to create a wreath?
Or make them out of paper so that you can choose your pattern and color.
Mix fall leaves with simple greenery for a pretty autumn showing.
This next wreath uses dried pears which I thought was unique.
floral fall wreaths
Nothing says fall like sunflowers do (well, and mums) and the mix of muted colors on these is absolutely gorgeous.
Bright and cheerful, sunflowers are very welcoming for your front door.
Or go dark and moody with black and purple.
pumpkin wreath ideas
This wildflower wreath contains mini pumpkins for a cute little accent. I love the colors in this one.
Or use larger white pumpkins for a muted effect.
This terracotta pot wreath I made a few years back has mini pumpkins in the pots.
Another pretty bunch of wild florals with mini pumpkin accents that you have to look close to see.
This last wreath doesn’t fit into any of my categories, but I had to include it. I love plaids for fall.
I also wanted to share this grapevine wreath form, it would make a cool base for anyone looking to DIY a fall wreath this year.
