3-Ingredient Hummus Wrap Recipe
During the holidays I give myself a green light to indulge in all the sweets I want to eat. But once January comes around, I reel myself in and try to eat better in preparation for Spring.
This hummus wrap recipe I’m sharing today is so simple but it is delicious. I had this at a restaurant while on vacation several years ago. My daughter (a vegetarian) and I (an admitted junk food lover) both loved it.
I like quick and easy recipes because I don’t love spending hours preparing food in the kitchen. It’s more likely I’ll eat healthy when it’s something easy to put together.
That being said, there’s so much more you can do with this as a base recipe!
Simple Ingredients FOr Hummus Wrap:
- Tortilla wraps
- Hummus
- Shredded carrots
- Sliced cucumbers
As you see, you only need three basic ingredients to make this healthy wrap (aside from the wrap itself)! To make this even quicker, I used store-bought hummus and carrots that were already shredded.
If you don’t want a regular flour tortilla, you can swap that out for something with more flavor. I used whole wheat this time but I also love sundried tomato tortillas.
For this recipe, I used plain hummus. However, I do have my own hummus recipe. When I feel like making it, I’ll use the sundried tomato hummus instead, which is delicious!
Use whatever flavor of hummus you love to customize it.
Assemble The Wrap
First, spread your hummus over the whole wrap. Use as much or as little as you prefer. I used a thin layer. Adding more hummus around the edges helps this hold together better when you roll it up.
Next, layer on your cucumber slices and shredded carrots.
Finally, roll it up and enjoy! It seriously doesn’t get easier than that!
Another suggestion is to swap out the tortilla for pita bread if you want it to be a little more filling.
When I was shopping for the ingredients to make this, I noticed the store had fresh radishes which I also picked up. I love radishes so I also added those to my wrap this time.
I placed those along the center of the wrap to make it easier to roll. That didn’t work out so I ended up slicing them thin like I did with the cucumbers.
This one was extra delicious with the crisp fresh veggies.
You could also sprinkle in lemon juice for flavor or balsamic vinegar with a little olive oil. Or top it with fresh parsley or fresh herbs of your choice.
This is an easy lunch idea to make ahead of time and is full of fresh flavors.
Healthy Ingredients For A Hummus Wrap
There is virtually no end to the types of veggies you can add to this hummus wrap to customize it to your personal preferences! It’s easy to mix and match with your favorite ingredients. Here are several more suggestions.
- Baby spinach or romaine lettuce
- Green or red peppers
- Red onions or green onions
- Sun-dried tomatoes
- Roasted red peppers
- Tomatoes
- Sprouts
Recently I saw a recipe that included sprouts and I thought that would be so delicious on this veggie hummus wrap but I couldn’t find that at the food store. Next time I may go to Whole Foods to see if that is something they carry.
Any mixed greens would be great in this wrap!
When I make this ahead of time I omit ingredients like tomatoes and roasted red peppers so that it doesn’t get soggy the next day.
You can store this in an air-tight container to have on hand for a quick lunch.
Protein Options
If you’re looking to get more protein in your diet, you could also add a slice of turkey or chicken. Or if you want your taste buds to be happy, add crumbled bacon, lol.
While those options aren’t good for our vegans, you could instead add sliced almonds or sunflower seeds. This will add some healthy fats to the recipe.
Lastly, if you’d like a little more flavor try crumbled feta cheese or or goat cheese. You could easily turn this into a delicious Mediterranean wrap with a few adjustments.
One last suggestion is to cut the assembled wraps into smaller sections and make them pinwheels. This would be a great healthy appetizer for your Superbowl parties!
As you can see, there are endless ways to turn this into your favorite combination of ingredients!

Easy Hummus Wrap Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup shredded carrots
- 1/4 cup cucumbers sliced lengthwise
- 2 tablespoons hummus
- 1 tortilla wrap
Instructions
- Spread a layer of hummus over your entire tortilla wrap.
- Add shredded carrots and sliced cucumbers.
- Roll up wrap and eat or store in an airtight container for later.
