Crostini With Herb Butter And Arugula
THIS EASY CROSTINI RECIPE IS THE PERFECT APPETIZER FOR SPRING!
You guys, if Spring had a taste it would be this crostini recipe! Recently, I was experimenting with a few different crostini recipes and came up with my own combination.
And it came out far better than I even expected. I’m not a big cook but I do love appetizers and desserts.
For this crostini recipe, I picked up a small baguette from the supermarket. I just bought one that looked to be on the small to medium size.
The herb butter is insanely delicious. I suggest making way more than the recipe calls for because you can use it on other things. It’s simple to make by combining butter with herbs, salt and pepper, and fresh lemon zest.
I very lightly toasted my bread in the oven. I didn’t want it too crunchy. Once it cooled off, I spread on a layer of the herb butter.
Next, I topped it with fresh arugula and thin slices of radish.
After I tasted it, I realized more arugula is better. It just balances everything out so I suggest piling that on.
I also experimented with how to layer them to see which way looked more appealing. The radish over the arugula looked better to me.
Finally, you can garnish it with the ingredients you used in the herb butter. I topped it with another pinch of salt and a sprinkling of chives.
What’s so great about this recipe is that it’s easy to customize to your liking. Swap out the herbs in the butter or top it with different vegetables. It’s an easy one to play around with!
As I said, I’m not a big cook so I don’t share many recipes here. Only the ones I really love or that my family really loves. This one definitely made the cut, it’s a new favorite!
We used the leftover herb butter over cooked green beans the next day and that was delicious as well. Definitely make extra of that!
