Mason Jar Salt and Pepper Shakers
Hello! I hope your weekend weather was as beautiful as ours was. I wanted to share a quick DIY today, that is so beyond easy it’s ridiculous. Awhile back, I had purchased a set of small mason jars with the intent of turning them into salt and pepper shakers. I only needed 2 jars, ย but they’re usually sold in sets of four. Because this is so easy, you could make a set for yourself and a set for a friend.
The jars came with the metal lids, so I asked my husband to drill a few small holes in them for me. He obviouslyย used a very small drill bit for this. We put a few more holes in the salt than in the pepper.
I had a little fun styling them on my rustic 3-tiered tray, which I purchased from Decor Steals. ย My entire house is a construction zone right now, so I can’t really do much more decorating that this until things are back to normal. Aren’t the carnations sweet in the top tier?
The lace trimmed napkins on the bottom tier are from Pier1. They are really beautiful in person. If you don’t want to make these salt and pepper shakers yourself, you can find them inexpensive enough in stores. Theย mason jars below are cute with the carrying handles.
World Market also has these blue mason jar salt and pepper shakers.
What do you think, buy or DIY?
I’ll see you back here Thursday with another update on my One Room Challenge kitchen progress.

SO cute! And so simple to make yourself!
Thanks, they really are adorable!
I definitely thinking making them was a great idea. You could have more than one set for a large gathering. I love the way you styled your 3tier tray. I’m always pinning pictures of them because I have one too. ๐ They are fun to play with.
So glad you joined us for Thoughts of Home on Thursday. We love having your inspiration. ๐
