Fall is here, which means it’s officially time to swap out the flip-flops for fuzzy socks and pretend we have our seasonal decorating game completely together.

And honestly? There’s no easier way to make your home feel cozy and festive than with a simple fall wreath on the door. Whether you’re the kind of person who plans craft projects weeks in advance or the “let’s wing it with a glue gun” type, these quick DIY ideas have you covered.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons to decorate for because it can be enjoyed for several months. I usually keep my cozy fall home decor out from September through November. This way, it can be appreciated as the cooler weather sets in.

Another reason I love fall decorating is that it’s a way to enjoy colors that I may not normally decorate with. All the warm tones reflective of the changing leaves outside make the house feel so warm and cozy.

Wreaths are an easy way to add seasonal charm without taking all day, spending a fortune, or taking up too much space. Today, I wanted to share several different ideas for making simple fall wreaths.

All of these can be made in under an hour with basic supplies!

Fall Wreaths: DIY or Buy?

There’s something about a fall wreath that instantly makes a home feel cozy and inviting. It’s the perfect way to make your front door more inviting. Though I often keep my wreaths inside, so that we can enjoy them.

The only problem? Some DIY wreath tutorials are tedious and can take hours. Sometimes they end up costing more than a store-bought one. I often don’t have hours and hours to spend on crafts, so I always lean toward easy wreath DIYs.

If you’re short on time or don’t want to spend a fortune, I’ve got you covered. These DIY wreath ideas are quick, budget-friendly, and perfect for adding a touch of autumn warmth to your home with no stress.

I’ll also include a handful of store-bought wreaths at the end that caught my eye for those of you who prefer to buy!

Picking the Perfect Fall Wreath

One advantage of making your own homemade fall wreath is that you can tailor it to your style. You can customize it for your color palette, style, and size.

I love simple wreaths with natural elements, and fall offers such an abundance of options that fit in with my preferences.

Here is a list of general supplies you may want to have on hand before setting out to make your own autumn door wreath.

Simple Fall Wreath Ideas

Here are some of my favorite simple fall wreath ideas from around the web (and a few of mine from years past).

corn husk wreath

This simple wreath using corn husks is one of my favorites. I love the idea of taking something so ordinary and creating a wreath from it. The free-form shape of it is so natural!

Classic Leaf Wreath

Colorful fall leaves are a classic option. You can use preserved leaves or make a wreath using faux leaves in warm, muted tones.

Minimalist Wheat Wreath

A minimalist wreath can have a big impact; there’s a certain restraint needed to keep things subtle. This pretty wheat wreath with a simple bow is a good example.

grapevine & Berry Wreath

A grapevine wreath form embellished with berries is another beautiful option.

Magnolia wreath

Or make a lush wreath using magnolia leaves. You could even purchase a magnolia garland to make this one even quicker and easier.

Asymmetrical Natural Wreath

While I love this next wreath, it’s clearly AI-generated. I included it anyway because it would be very easy to recreate this. I love a natural grapevine wreath form. Embellishing one side of it with natural fall elements is a simple yet beautiful idea.

Dried Orange Slice Wreath

A wreath made from orange slices could even last through the Christmas holiday with a simple ribbon change.

For a budget-friendly fall craft, look to your own garden. Use what you have around, and it will cost next to nothing to make.

I made this wreath using Sedum flowers I picked from my yard. It lasted well throughout the season.

Several years back, I made this dried floral wreath using yellow yarrow. I found the yarrow at a flea market for only a few dollars and added a few dried wheat sprigs for accent.

Another cute wreath idea is to use mini terracotta pots. Tuck in mini pinecones, faux berries, and colorful leaves for a garden-inspired fall wreath.

Pretty fall wreaths you can buy

If you’re not in the mood to make your own wreath or just don’t have the time, I also found a few really beautiful wreaths available to purchase.

I really love this natural fall wreath – because Terrain always does it best. I hope they open one here in NJ one day!

Another gorgeous natural style fall wreath idea.

Dried hydrangeas are always a classic option as well. I love the warm orange and brown tones in this particular wreath.

Your Next Fall Wreath Is Just One Hour Away

And there you have it, a wreath that says “I have my life together,” even if you hot-glued half of it while watching Netflix in your pajamas.

Whether you go all out with foliage or keep it minimal, the fun is in making something that’s totally you. Now go hang that beauty on your door, pour another cup of cider, and let the compliments roll in every time someone stops by.
