Vintage Planters and Pots From Etsy

A ROUND-UP OF OUR FAVORITE VINTAGE PLANTERS, POTS, AND PLANT STANDS FROM ETSY.

vintage and antique planters, pots and plant stands from Etsy

While I’m always on the hunt for vintage home decor, vintage planters are something I can rarely pass up when the price is right.

Combining plants and flowers with vintage items creates such beautiful contrast. Last week when I shared my small front porch ideas with plants you may have noticed several vintage containers holding those plants.

Because I’m always on the hunt, I wanted to show you guys some of my favorite vintage planters and pots I’ve spotted on Etsy recently. I can imagine any of these overflowing with cascading flowers and plants!

small tabletop vintage planters

Small tabletop planters are a great accent on a side table or as a centerpiece.

I love the patina and color on this first one. Pedestal planters are great indoors because they elevate the display, which takes up less table space. It also allows flowers to cascade over the sides without touching the table.

This white vintage planter is a pretty shape. Sometimes I’ll look for containers with a narrow opening because they require less flowers for a full look. Mostly, I use the narrow openings for cut flower displays.

This gorgeous old trophy cup could work as a planter or for fresh flowers. To create fresh flower arrangements in old containers, I will place a glass or a mason jar inside the vintage piece to hold the water. Old containers are rarely watertight.

I also spotted this more traditional silver trophy cup I thought was cool.

Chamber pots and soup tureens are another favorite of mine for floral displays. These are especially great for use with bulbs such as paperwhites or amaryllis.

antique hanging planters

With small outdoor spaces hanging planters are a great way to add more flowers without taking up any square footage.

Bird cages are pretty popular right now and the shape of this vintage bird cage is spectacular. I don’t love birds but I can see this cage as a stunning planter!

Try this white metal hanging basket with pretty scroll work for a more traditional and classic look.

Wall pocket containers are another idea I like. I can see one of these hung on a house or in a sunroom. A grouping of these would be even better.

vintage planter stands

Tall, slim plant stands are a great accent indoors or out! And there are so many options for them!

If you click on this wooden plant stand and it’s sold there’s a very good chance I already bought it. I’m obsessed with this one.

The shape of this metal plant stand is so pretty. You could place it right in a flower garden for added height.

Additionally, the height and wood cutouts on this tall plant stand are so beautiful.

You can never go wrong with a trio of pretty planters. I don’t believe these are old, but I included them because they look vintage-inspired.

This next one isn’t the best photo but I love the patina and with different plantings in this, it could be a show-stopper.

larger planters for container gardens

When I’m out thrifting I’m always surprised at how expensive large vintage planters are. When you find a large antique planter at a fair price you should always grab it!

Antique urns especially can be very expensive to buy antique. I found this urn online that looks antique but without the crazy price tag. Here’s another vintage-style planter that I love but seems to be sold out at the moment.

These swan planters are so adorable! I am very into anything that has animals on it lately!

And my goodness, would you look at this French copper planter? This one is really expensive but was so amazing I had to include it here!

Etsy is one of my favorite places to look for vintage planters and pots. Prices are hit or miss but so many gems to be found.

Also, when I’m looking for specific plants that I can’t find locally (such as climbing hydrangea vines) often times, I’ll find an Etsy seller that carries them.

Which of these vintage planters is your favorite?

I bought a similar swan planter from Amazon this spring. it looks like vintage concrete but lighter. I have it on my kitchen table with some faux greenery. So pretty!

    1. Amazon does have some good options for vintage look-a-likes!
