The best part? You don’t have to spend hours digging through antique stores or hot flea markets to find those treasures. I enjoy that, but it’s not for everyone. Etsy is a goldmine for curated vintage finds that can be shipped to you.

Today, I wanted to share some amazing finds I have saved on Etsy. Each of these could completely transform the look and feel of a room on its own!

lighting

Vintage lighting delivers in a way that modern lighting can’t. It sets the mood, defines the style, and is often the focal point of a room. Especially in a dining room.

This first chandelier is so stunning. I doubt any new version can compare.

Don’t underestimate the power of a beautiful lamp in a room. I have one similar to this, and it’s a favorite.

Don’t be afraid to pair a vintage lamp with a modern shade or vice versa. Or to hang a vintage chandelier in a more minimalist room. The contrast will make your space feel curated and not cookie cutter.

area rugs

Nothing can transform a whole room as fast as an area rug. Vintage Turkish rugs are like works of art with the different patterns and colors.

I usually opt for more neutral versions of area rugs such as the one below. The colors in that are perfect and the price is unbelievably good.

I do also like the more traditional colored rugs that have more blues and reds in them. Those can really make a whole room.

Turkish rugs bring a lived in, collected to feel to any room. Plus, they work with any decor style.

kitchen decor

Considering so much time is spent in the kitchen, it’s worth adding a touch of charm to make it more inviting.

I like to use functional items in the kitchen as decor. For example, vintage bread boards as wall hangings.

A brass and wood set of kitchen utensils would also look pretty on the wall. I have a very similar set to this that I’ve been saving for our move.

The blue and white plates shown below are pretty and you can never go wrong with blue and white. I also love this set of wall plates in green.

Vintage kitchen tools weren’t only practical, but often they were beautifully designed. Displaying old measuring spoons, copper pans, or ceramic mixing bowls adds style while keeping useful items within reach.

Start small by displaying vintage utensils in a crock, hanging an old kitchen scale on the wall, or mixing antique and modern dishware on open shelves. It’s all about adding layers and letting your personality shine through.

wall art

If you want old soul and character, antique paintings are a no fail way to get that look. They can often be very expensive which is why I have my digital art shop. But sometimes you just want the real thing. I have a mix of both in my house.

I can never pass up a harbor painting when I find one. This one is beautiful with its neutral colors and a frame that matches perfectly. But this is not a budget-friendly option!

Or check out this harbor painting for much less!

wall decor

Wall space takes up a lot of real estate in our homes, so it’s a great opportunity to add interest and character. And it doesn’t always have to be artwork. Try using other decor such as mirrors, shelves, and even architectural salvage.

Wall sconces are great on their own or mixed into a gallery wall.

Vintage mirrors get me every time. I have been hoarding so many that when it was time to pick vanity mirrors for the bathrooms in the new house, I didn’t have to buy any. In fact, I had several options.

Antique wall shelves are another great way to add interest and give you the opportunity to display more of your treasures. You can switch out the decor when you need a refresh without putting new holes in the wall.

Even smaller decor pieces can help to transform a room by adding another layer of character or texture. You know I love decorating with baskets.

A beautiful quilt like this would be an amazing focal point for any space!

Imagine changing out all your kitchen cabinet hardware to these! Someone better snatch these quick before I do.

Adding vintage statues and sculptures is a way to add another layer to your home decor. They bring a visual interest that mass-produced items just can’t match.

tips for shopping Vintage Finds on Etsy

  • Use keywords: Try searching terms like “authentic”, “primitive”, or “mid-century” to narrow down your search and hone in on things you’re most interested in.
  • Check measurements: Photos can be deceiving, always check those measurements so you’re not disappointed when your item arrives. This has happened to me several times!
  • Read reviews: Check the seller’s reviews to be sure you’re dealing with a shop with a good reputation.
  • Ask questions: When in doubt, you can message the seller with any questions. Most respond within 24 hours, in my experience.
