I was asked to be part of a Blogger Spring Craft Blog Hop just the other day by one of my blogging friends. This required coming up with a Spring craft pretty quickly. I had this doily I had picked up from Michael’s store. They come in assorted colors and are only a dollar each. Every time I go in there, I buy one and then get home and think I should have gotten more. So for this pink one, I initially thought of making it into a little bowl.
I had some of these styrofoam bowls on hand. So I placed the doily over the bowl and then applied 3-4 layers of Mod Podge. I’ve only lately begun using Mod Podge and now I’m a Mod-Podging fool.
After that was mostly dried, I turned the doily over and put it into the bowl right side up. (I forgot to take a picture of that). I added another 2-3 layers of Mod Podge to that side. When John got home from work he asked me if it was a little hat.
While John was playing, I went outside and gathered up some thin little branches.
I added some leftover moss to the bowl that I had from my DIY Topiary project. I also added faux Easter Eggs and branch for the handle. I wanted to use several branches grouped together for the handle, but it was too hard to get more than one to sit the same way without looking wonky or having them snap.
You could also just use these as decorative little bowls around the house, which I plan to do with this after Easter. It would make a cute Easter craft for the kids to do, too.
Don’t forget to visit the Spring Craft Blog Hop and see what everyone else made, there are lots of great Spring and Easter crafts to inspire!
