Plastic planters can look cheap but we like them because they're lightweight. Here is how we gave ours a makeover to look like cement pots.
Start with a fine textured spray paint and begin by spraying the inside of the pot.
We sprayed the outside with 3 coats of the textured paint, letting it dry between. The more paint you apply, the more texture you will get.
To give it a more aged look, we next layered on a bit of green paint as well as some white to mimic moss and lime.
Lastly, we sprayed another light coat of the textured paint over the green and white.
Here is the finished result! Prettier than plastic but still lightweight!
