Creating a stunning full sun container garden that will last all summer is easy using these readily available plants and flowers!
Dahlia's are show stopping flowers that come in many colors and sizes. We chose orange for our container.
Marigolds thrive in the hot sun. Pinch off spent blooms to encourage more. We chose soft white and butter yellow as opposed to the bright yellow variety.
To add interest, we added purple sage as one of our fillers. Sage is said to repel bugs making them useful as well as pretty.
Every good container needs a "spiller" flower. Here you can see our Creeping Jenny spilling over the side of the container.
To add height, we planted "fireworks" fountain grass in the center. Here is how the container look when first planted.
And here is how it grew! The fountain grass in the middle is stunning. The dahlias faded towards end of summer but the marigolds multiplied and filled in.
