Plate racks like these can sell for over $200 but I found this one for only $5 on Marketplace!
It was a great buy, but I really didn't like the wood tone of the finish. Fortunately, this was an easy fix with paint!
I had a can of leftover paint in this pretty blue/gray shade that was perfect for this. I wanted a color that would contrast with my white dishes.
I used my paint sprayer to apply the paint because I wanted a very smooth finish with no brush strokes.
Here's an up close of the finish. It's very hard to get this smooth of a finish with a paint brush.
After my two coats of paint had fully dried, I applied my favorite top coat to protect the rack from scratches.
The paint color I used is called Water's Edge. It's a perfectly muted blue shade.
It was an easy fix for only $5 spent! Now it makes a pretty display while also providing extra storage!
