DIY MINI AMERICAN FLAGS

THE HONEYCOMB HOME

fabric of choice 12" wooden dowels pencils pencil erasers gold paint hot glue

SUPPLIES NEEDED

Cut fabric into 8" X 6" pieces.  Optional: Lay a piece of wax paper down to protect tabletop. Place fabric piece upside down on table. Line a wooden dowel up along the edge of the fabric as shown here.

Line the wooden dowel with hot glue and roll the edge of the fabric around the dowel.

We used a mix of ticking stripe fabrics for a vintage style look.

To make a finial for our mini flags, we used pencil erasers.

Dip the eraser into a small pot of gold craft paint.  Set them upright in a paper cup until fully dry.  When dry, remove it from the pencil and put it on the top of your dowel.

Group several together in a small vase for a pretty display.
