One Room Challenge – Sneak Peek! Week 5

I spent the day last Saturday working on my One Room Challenge. I have the room about 90% done. I was hoping to finish the whole thing because I don’t have much time this weekend to get back over there. To be honest I had moments of “what was I thinking?” During the last several weeks wondering if I could pull this off by myself and on a shoestring. Now that I’m seeing my design plan come to life, I couldn’t be happier with the results. I can’t wait to share the entire before after next week, but for now, I’ll give you the sneak peek.

I used mostly accessories I had from around my own house, with very few exceptions. The blue globes shown below I did purchase at Marshalls. They were only $7 for the set of 3. The gold vase was a clear vase I picked up at the dollar store and painted gold myself. I recently saw a similar small vase on Amazon that is so cute!

 

The cylinder vase on the coffee table  was also a dollar store find, you can find a similar vase here. The books on the table and on the shelves were some leftovers from the fireplace. I ripped off the covers and tied them with twine. They make an awesome design accessory for pennies and can be done in two minutes!

 

These vases shown below I also had around the house & just gave them a more designer look with the same gold paint I used on the small vase. You can find the exact paint I used here.
