Fall Home Decor

Let’s start in my family room (which used to be my garage!). Turning this room into usable space was one of the best things we’ve ever done, it’s my favorite room in the house. I keep this space very neutral so that I can add in pops of color seasonally. I kept my fall home decor simple this year with lots of pumpkins and fresh greenery. For this vignette,  I started with the wooden thankful sign from Kirkland’s and added golden natural pumpkins and dried hydrangeas.

When we converted our garage, we added an electric fireplace and a shiplap feature wall. My fall mantel decor is similar to last year, except that I added a bit of amber tones, which is echoed in the throw pillows (find those here and here) and with my faux eucalyptus branches.

It is challenging to decorate around the TV in this space. We were able to hide the cable box and the wires so at least none of that is visible.

I slightly changed the scenery on my reclaimed wood coffee table to include a few fall decor accents.

When we were renovating this room, I was torn on making it a family room or a dining room. I went with a family room because I knew it would be used much more than a dining space, but I did make it multi-functional by including a pedestal dining table and chairs.

I made a small fall vignette on the table with this beautiful whitewashed wooden bowl filled with scented pine cones. I wish you could smell it! Both the wooden bowl and the galvanized pumpkin are from Kirkland’s.

Over in the kitchen I kept it very simple because it’s always being used. Between my daughter’s and their meal prep and keeping my husband fed, there is always someone cooking here. Whoever said the quickest way to a mans heart is through his stomach, definitely knew my husband.

I added a simple vignette on my counter with mini pinecones and acorns and some saw grass picked from the yard. Don’t tell my husband, he is obsessed with his sawgrass.

If you are new here, you can see my kitchen makeover here, it’s a dramatic change from the builder grade browns that I had in here before.

I also kept the table decor minimal with only my dried hydrangea centerpiece.

From my kitchen, you can see the living room, which had a little makeover this summer. The view is much improved now with my rustic fireplace mantel.

Although I may not have an official dining room, I’m a lucky girl to now have two fireplace mantels. This is my new favorite spot to decorate since there is no TV above the mantel to decorate around. Keeping with my simple fall home decor, I added only pumpkins and a few sprigs of wheat. You can read more about my vintage mantel here. You can find the amazing filigree metal arch here.

Here’s a better look at the wheat springs, they have just the right amount of color in them.

My living room has a little more color than my other rooms, so I wanted to keep the rest of the decor fairly neutral.

I added a few fall throw pillows that coordinate nicely with my neutral chairs.

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen me post this farmhouse pillow, which was made by my friend Lisa who blogs at Farmhouse on Boone. Isn’t it beautiful?

I did add a pop of color on my console table in this space. When I went to my favorite store for buying flowers, they didn’t really have what I was looking for this time. I do love Gerber Daisies, so I went with those.

I added some yellow poppies (I don’t know if that’s what they’re really called, but that’s what they look like to me) and fresh greens into the mix.
